Honda Updates Brio Hatchback, Coming To India By September
Honda Cars India will be providing its Brio hatchback with a much-needed update. Recently, an updated Honda Brio was unveiled at the 2016 Indonesian Motor Show. In India, Honda's updated hatchback is most likely to be launched sometime during September 2016.
Minor cosmetic changes will carried out on the 2016 Honda Brio for the Indian market. Expect similar design cues that were introduced in the Honda Amaze compact sedan. Also, the dashboard is most likely to be carried over from the Amaze for a premium and upmarket feel.
Under the hood of the new Brio, Honda is unlikely to be offered with a new engine. The 2016 Brio will be powered by a 1.2-litre i-VTEC petrol engine, that produces 90bhp and 109Nm of torque. The engine will be mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox and an optional CVT could also be on the cards.
Honda could also look at making the all-new Brio more cost effective, thus achieving higher sales. The 2016 Honda Brio is most likely to bear a base price tag of Rs. 5 lakh ex-showroom. This pricing would put it on par with hatchbacks like Hyundai Grand i10, Chevrolet Beat, and Maruti Suzuki Swift.
