GM Likely To Discontinue Chevrolet Enjoy
General Motors is likely to end the production of its MPV Chevrolet Enjoy with the sell out of the company's Halol production facility in Gujarat.
The Chevrolet Enjoy is witnessing a decrease in sales and there has been a shift in customers preference to the SUV over MPV.
Chevrolet Enjoy clocks an average of 877 units per month since its launch in May 2013 and has not been the best model in terms of sales for the General Motors. The Enjoy was powered by two engine options in diesel and petrol format. The 1.4-litre petrol engine churned out 99bhp and 131Nm of torque while the diesel unit was of 1.3-litre engine producing 74bhp and 172Nm of torque.
The Chevrolet Enjoy faced severe competition from Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and the Enjoy had to take the back seat in terms of sales.
The production plant also manufactures the Chevrolet Tavera which will be shifted and possibly moved to the other facility in Talegaon. The Tavera has been a better performer with more 10,000 units being sold in the last fiscal in 2015-16.
Chevrolet has planned to launch five new models in the next couple of years with three of them confirmed to be new facelifted Beat, the compact sedan of Beat called the Beat Essentia, and Beat Activ which is the crossover on the same platform.
