Ford To Cease All Operations In Japan And Indonesia By The End Of 2016
oi-Abijith Vilangil
Ford
Motor
Company
announced
that
it
will
cease
all
operations
in
Japan
and
Indonesia
this
year
since
there
is
no
reasonable
profitability
in
the
two
countries.
Ford will exit all areas of business, including the dealerships and imports of Ford and Lincoln vehicles.
Ford is currently following in the footsteps of General Motors, which decided to stop making GM-branded cars in Indonesia.
"Unfortunately, this also means that our team members based in Japan and Indonesia will no longer work for Ford Japan or Ford Indonesia following the closures," said Dave Schoch, Ford Asia Pacific President.
