Eager To Buy Self-Driving Cars? Well You Have To Wait Till 2025!
Ford has stated that it will be marketing its very first self-driving car to the masses by 2025, earlier Ford said that it will be starting an autonomous ride sharing service by 2021. Well if you want to buy a self driven Ford, then you have to wait till 2025.
Mark Fields, CEO, Ford, speaking in a press conference on Monday said that company will be launching an affordable self-driving car by 2025, this is also the part of Ford's Smart Mobility Plan announced last year. Field also stated that the company will be taxiing its employees in autonomous cars at Dearborn, Michigan headquarters in 2018.
Currently Ford is testing the autonomous technology on Ford Fusion with six long and short range radars, four LiDAR units and five cameras. The development of level 4 or fully autonomous car will continue in its headquarters in Michigan.
Ford will be in extensive competition with other manufacturers such as, General Motors who joined hands with Lyft to develop autonomous taxis, Volvo which collaborated with Uberto start developing self driving taxis and many more to come.
