Ford Adds Standard Safety Feature For Its Trend Variant Of Figo And Aspire
Ford has silently added the ABS + EBD on the Trend variant of the Figo and Aspire which was available in the top-of-the-line Titanium and Titanium + variants
Ford India has quietly added the Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) and Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) features on the Trend variant of its Figo hatchback and sub-compact sedan Aspire.
The models in the Trend variants are equipped with dual airbags as standard fitment. Prior to this update from Ford India, the Figo and Aspire with the ABS and EBD was available only on the Titanium and Titanium + variants only.
With this update, the base and the Ambiente variants of the Figo and the Ambiente variant of the Aspire will miss out the ABS and EBD safety features.
So how does this ABS + EBD help in the safety of the passengers in the vehicle? Both these featurebalances the force between the front and rear wheels and prevent the wheel from locking. This leads to greater control and stability just in case you stop in a hurry.
The Ford Figo Trend 1.2-litre petrol variant with manual gearbox starts from Rs 5,23,700 and the 1.5-litre diesel with manual gearbox starts at Rs 6.32.750.
As for the Ford Aspire Trend variants, the 1.2-litre petrol variant with manual gearbox starts from Rs 5,76,150 and the 1.5-litre diesel with manual gearbox starts at Rs 6,85,850. All prices are ex-showroom (Delhi).
With the government of India bringing in stricter rules especially in the safety features, the airbags and ABS will be a standard fitment from October 2017.
Most of the auto manufacturers have started to equip their models with required ABS and airbags as a standard fitment.
Recently, Volkswagen has equipped its Polo with standard fitment of ABS. Ford too has made the dual airbags standard across variants of the EcoSport.
