2016 Bogota Auto Show: Ford Showcases New Escape

Powering the 2017 Escape is a 2.0-litre EcoBoost turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine which churns out 245bhp.

American auto giant Ford has showcased the 2017 Escape at the Bogota Auto Show. The new model was a crowd puller at the show held in Colombia earlier this month.

The 2017 Escape is 4,521mm long, 1,839mm wide, 1,684mm high and has a wheelbase of 2,690mm. Powering the vehicle is a 2.0-litre EcoBoost turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine which churns out 245bhp of power at 5,500rpm and 372Nm of torque at 3,000rpm.

The powerplant is paired to a 6-speed paddle-shift automatic transmission. The model is also available in four-wheel drive option.

The vehicle is available in two trims, SE and Titanium, and in total three configurations. The key features are 10-way electrically adjustable driver seat with lumbar adjustment, dual exhaust outlets, door mirrors with heating function, 18-inch alloy wheels and DRLs.

The cockpit is also updated and now it gets an 8-inch SYNC 3 touchscreen infotainment system with navigation, 9-speaker audio system, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

In Colombia, the 2017 Ford Escape is priced 87,990,000 Pesos (Rs 19.12 lakh) for the SE 4x2 and, for SE AWD and Titanium model at 95,990,000 Pesos (Rs 20.86 lakh) and 1,09,490,000 Pesos (Rs 23.8 lakh) respectively.
