Ford Endeavour Outsells Toyota Fortuner In April
The Toyota Fortuner has been a good selling model for the carmaker and also a preferred choice for customers in the SUV range. But that has changed, since in April 2016, the Ford Endeavour has outsold the Fortuner.
The American carmaker managed to sell 560 units of the Endeavour in India during April, while Toyota sold 509 units of the Fortuner. The Fortuner's sales has dropped considerably compared to six months ago.
One of the main reasons as to why Ford outsold Toyota in this segment is due to the updated Endeavour, that comes with a host of new features and two engine options.
Ford is offering a 2.2-litre engine that makes 158bhp and a 3.2-litre engine that produces 197bhp. The Endeavour is available as a two-wheel drive or as a four-wheel drive variant, with an optional automatic gearbox.
Toyota too plans on launching the facelifted Fortuner in India soon. When launched, Toyota can hope to get its sales numbers high again.
