2017 Ford EcoSport Four-Wheel-Drive Expected To Be Launched In India
The 2017 Ford EcoSport all-wheel-drive variant is expected to be launched in India.
American automaker Ford showcased the 2017 EcoSport compact sedan at the Los Angeles Auto Show on 14th November. The new EcoSport gets redesigned front fascia and the rear mounted spare wheel is devoid.
The top of the line US- spec EcoSport features intelligent all-wheel-drive, sport tuned suspension and steering and sports seats. According to reports this model is likely to be launched in India.
Although Ford has confirmed this model only to US market. The production of the US-spec models will take place in India at the firm's Chennai plant.
So there are high chances of Ford launching the top end SES series in India. The 2017 EcoSport will be launched in India by mid-2017.
In its facelifted avatar, the EcoSport gets one piece hexagonal front grille which is seen on the Ford's bigger SUV models such as Kuga and the Edge.
The front fascia including headlamps, fog lamps and bumper has been redesigned. It also gets new alloy wheels. The rear mounted spare wheel is dropped for US market. But for the Asian markets it is expected to go unchanged.
The 2017 EcoSport is expected to be powered by the same engines which is currently sold in India. The petrol variant is powered by 1.5-litre Ti-VCT or the 1.0-litre EcoBoost engine. Diesel version comes with 1.5-litre TDCi diesel engine.
Coming to the interior, the new EcoSport gets a new dashboard and updated steering wheel. It also features eight-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. In addition to that, it sports advanced SYNC3 infotainment technology.
The safety features of the new compact SUV includes dual front airbags, ABS with EBD and reverse parking camera.
