By looking at the photos, we can say the exterior design of the 2017 Ford Ecosport has been inspired from the styling cues of Ford Kuga. Inside, there is a new steering wheel, instrument cluster, centre console and the SYNC 2 infotainment system.
Along with the interior and exterior updates, the model will also get a new 1.5-litre ‘Dragon' three-cylinder naturally aspirated engine which will replace company's current 1.6-litre Sigma unit.
We hope Ford will debut this engine in India later. But for now, according to the reports, the India-spec 2017 Ford Ecosport will continue with the same engine options as the existing model.
Currently, Ford India offers a 1-litre Ecoboost petrol engine, 1.5-litre Ti-VCT petrol and 1.5-litre TDCi diesel engine. Both automatic and manual transmission options are available for 1.5-litre Ti-VCT petrol variant.
The new Ford Ecosport will hit the U.S. market in 2017. The Euro-spec Ecosport will be built in Romania from H2 2017. It is also reported that the U.S.-spec version will be made in India.
