Ford was not able to make the debut of 2017 Ecosport at the 2016 Sao Paulo Auto Show on 8th of November. We can expect Ford to launch the new version in India soon after its launch.
The exterior design of the 2017 Ecosport will be inspired from the styling cues of Ford Kuga. Inside, there is a new steering wheel, new instrument cluster, redesigned centre console and the SYNC 2 infotainment system.
Along with the styling updates, the facelifted version will get a new 1.5-litre ‘Dragon' three-cylinder engine and is a naturally aspirated one. This motor will replace the current 1.6-litre Sigma unit.
When Ford launches the 2017 Ecosport, we can expect it will bring the ‘Dragon' engine to India. But, for now, according to some reports, Ford India will only opt for the same engine options which are currently available.
Currently, in India, Ford offers a 1-litre Ecoboost petrol engine, 1.5-litre Ti-VCT petrol and 1.5-litre TDCi diesel engine. Both automatic and manual transmission options are available for 1.5-litre Ti-VCT petrol variant.
The new Ford Ecosport will hit the South American roads in early 2017. The Euro-spec models will be built in Romania from H2 2017. Some reports reveal that the U.S.-spec versions will be made in India.

Thinks!
The
new
‘Dragon'
engine
will
become
a
great
hit
because,
a
few
years
back,
when
Ford
introduced
the
1.0-litre
EcoBoost
engine,
it
was
simply
astonishing
and
the
automaker
was
able
to
squeeze
out
123bhp
from
it.
So
we
think
the
new
engine
will
also
follow
the
tradition.
