Ford Begins The EcoSport 2.0-Litre Production In India

Ford India has begun the production of EcoSport with a 2.0-litre petrol engine.

In India, Ford currently offers the EcoSport with a 1.5-litre diesel and 1.0-litre EcoBoost petrol engine.

The new 2.0-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine is capable of producing 138bhp and 186Nm of torque. Ford will be offering 5-speed manual and a DCT gearbox on the new EcoSport.

Currently, the EcoSports with the 2.0-litre hearts are being exported to Mexico, and not likely to be launched in India since the compact SUV will fall under a higher excise duty bracket.

Ford had recently confirmed that the 2017 EcoSport will be making its global debut in November this year. The updated compact SUV will be initially launched in Brazil.
