The BMW i8 Protonic Red Edition Is Now Available — Here’s More!
Less than 100 units of the new BMW i8 Protonic Red will be available for the US market and one of them has already landed at the local dealership.
The BMW i8 Protonic Red arrived this week at Century West BMW and it's already attracting a huge crowd that want to take a look at the car towards the dealership located in Southern California, USA.
The Protonic Edition adorns the German carmaker's latest red-variant which, appears similar to the Imola Red finish, seen on the performance oriented M-variants.
As soon as one opens the door, he or she is greeted with design elements such as the carbon fibre interior inserts and dark NESO interior seating with red contrasting stitches.
Behind the headreasts of the i8, you would find the embedded 'i8-logo'. Also present are seatbelts finished in grey and contrasting stitching, along with special interior mats that finish the overall details in the cabin of the Protonic Edition.
In terms of power, the BMW i8 Protonic Edition will continue drawing it from the hybrid engine, a 1.5-litre petrol engine, mated to an electric motor that produces a total of 357bhp and 570Nm of torque.
The hybrid engine comes mated to a 6-speed automatic gearbox, that helps the car accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in 4.4 seconds and attain a top speed of 250km/h, which is electronically restricted.
Recently, Indian cricketer and BMW's brand ambassador, Sachin Tendulkar decided to give his BMW i8 a makeover to look like the limited edition BMW i8 Protonic Edition.
