Fire Breaks Out In Tata Nano Plant In Sanand: Report
Tata Motors Nano Vendor Park in Sanand has been engulfed in fire, this comes on the heels of the fire which broke out in Subros plant in Gujarat.
To contain the fire, 12 fire tenders have been pressed into service at the spot. "A fire broke out at one of our vendor M/S Supreme Treaves, our supplier partner of trim parts for the Nano in the vendor park. The fire is under control now and no injuries were reported. We are ascertaining the extent of the damage. This has no impact on the Tiago production," Tata Motors said in a statement.
The fire break comes after Maruti reported a fire in one of its parts suppliers manufacturing plant. This was in Manesar plant of Subros India, the biggest supplier of air conditioner systems to Maruti Suzuki which destroyed the plant completely. Maruti had incurred a loss of production of 10,000 units.
Tata Motors has been producing the newly launched Tata Tiago and has received 20,000 bookings and this could increase the waiting time of the car, however, there is no confirmed information from Tata Motors.
Tata Motors is witnessing a great comeback with the good sales of the Tiago, a small hatchback which is priced competitively at Rs. 3.20 lakh for the base variant of the petrol model. Also, are the Tata Nexon and Tata Hexa which are in the pipeline for launch later this year.
Another car which Tata Motors is planning is on the platform of the Tiago code named as Kite 5 which is the compact sedan of the Tiago.
