Faraday Future Reveals Specification For Its Formula E Race Car
Faraday Future has revealed the technical specification of its Formula E race car.
American electric vehicle startup firm Faraday Future has revealed the specification for its Formula E race car. Faraday Future has joined hands with Dragon Racing to develop the electric race car.
The newly formed Faraday Future Dragon Racing team has spilled the beans about its upcoming Formula E race car. The electric car is capable of reaching 0-100km/h in just 2.95 seconds.
The electric car will produce a maximum power of 270bhp and maximum regenerative capacity of 150kW. The regenerative energy is generated when the driver applies the brakes.
The race car is powered by a permanent magnet motor which is mated to two-speed paddle shift sequential gearbox.
The front suspension of the race car is handled by steel wishbones with pushrod operated dampers and torsion bars, while the rear suspension is equipped with torsion bars with coil springs.
According to Faraday Future Future Dragon Racing team, each electric race car will cost around $350,000 (Approximately Rs 2.38 crore). With the drivers swapping the car mid-race, a race requires at least two cars.
Formula E is not as popular as other motorsport series, but more and more manufacturers are attracted towards this all-electric racing series.
Audi, Jaguar, Mahindra, Renault and other teams are competing in the electric racing series. Recently Ferrari also hinted about its Formula E entry in near future.
