Dutch Automaker Donkervoort Unveils D8 GTO-RS Limited Edition
Donkervoort will only make 65 examples of D8 GTO-RS sports car, which consists of 40 standard models, 15 ‘Bare Naked Carbon Edition’ and 10 D8 GTO-RS Race Edition models.
Donkervoort, Netherland-based sports car manufacturer has revealed D8 GTO-RS, a successor to the highly acclaimed 270 RS. The new model is a lightweight variant of the D8 GTO model.

The powerplant remains the same Audi-sourced 2.5-litre turbocharged five-cylinder engine. The engine is finely tuned to meet the Euro 6 emissions legislation. The company also claims that the car has much more torque across the rev range and have quicker acceleration than normal variant.

The company didn't reveal much about the power output. We can expect it do a sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.5 seconds. Add to that, the company also had improved D8 GTO-RS's downforce.

So now it delivers 50kg over the front axle and 50 kg of downforce at the rear axle. For obtaining this gain, Donkervoort has redesigned the front end, a couple of small spoilers and custom vanes. Now, the air resistance has been reduced by 20 percent allowing the car to achieve greater top speed.

Unlike the D8 GTO, the RS version gets fully adjustable ABS and traction control systems as well as a tuned suspension system and a double clutch transmission.

Donkervoort will only make 65 examples of this sports car, which consists of 40 standard models, 15 ‘Bare Naked Carbon Edition' and 10 D8 GTO-RS Race Edition models. The race models will be a track-only model as it will feature a non-street legal sequential transmission.
