Datsun Redi-Go Takes Shape Ahead Of April 14 India Launch
Datsun will be launching an all-new model for the Indian market on April 14, 2016. The Japanese-based automobile manufacturer is teasing its upcoming model through its #ISayYes campaign. Everyday elements will be added to an outline of the vehicle thus, eventually revealing the Redi-Go.
The Redi-Go compact hatchback was first seen in concept guise at the 2014 Auto Expo in Delhi. Datsun did not showcase the Redi-Go at the recent 2016 Auto Expo and promised that the model will be launching soon.
Redi-Go will look similar to the concept model that we have seen and here are a couple of design images. The all-new compact hatchback will be the third Datsun product to be launched in India. Datsun Redi-Go will be their most affordable offering for the domestic market.
Currently, Datsun India offers the Go hatchback and Go+ compact station wagon. All Datsun models are locally manufactured at Nissan's facility in Chennai. Redi-Go too will be made in India and there is a high possibility Datsun could export it out to several countries.
Powering the Redi-Go will be an all-new 1.2-lite petrol, three-cylinder engine from Datsun. The engine will be mated to a 5-speed manual transmission and will deliver 65bhp and 142Nm of torque. Stay tuned for more design and updates from Datsun in the upcoming days.
