Datsun Aims To Take Out Maruti With Aggressive Redi-Go Pricing
The Datsun Redi-Go is the latest car in the Renault-Nissan alliance's program to pull the wallets of everyday Indians away from the usual suspects like Maruti and Hyundai.
Maruti Suzuki have dominated the entry level hatchback segment since the Maruti 800 was first introduced in 1983. However, their hold over the segment is now under threat thanks to the very aggressively priced Renault Kwid.
Now, Maruti's headache is set to get worse as the newly Datsun aims to get even more aggressive with its pricing for the newly unveiled Redi-Go hatchback.
According to AutoCar Professional, Datsun is expected to keep the price of the base variant of the Redi-Go under Rs. 2.50 lakhs which would make its the second most affordable car on sale in India.
With its aggressive price-tag and brilliant design, the 800cc Redi-Go could be a brilliant proposition for the aspiring Indian car owner when Datsun opens pre-bookings for the new car in May.
