Man Gets Cheated By Conwoman Selling A Car on OLX — Online Car Sales Still Treacherous
A man allegedly got cheated off his money after he deposited money to buy a car he saw on an online ad.
A man from Hubbali, Karnataka has filed a complaint with the police after he was allegedly cheated out of a sum of Rs. 5.58 lakh by five people from Bangalore who advertised a car for sale on online marketplace OLX.
Ishwar Shivaji Kalyani from Hubbali claims that a woman by the name of Rebak Ra from Bangalore posted an advertisement of a car on sale on OLX, which he responded to.
In his complaint, Kalyani claims that Ra stated that she was returning back home to Bangkok and wanted to sell her car.
The alleged conwoman then gave her contact number to Kalyani and invited him to come and have a look at the vehicle which was parked at the warehouse at Bangalore Airport.
Kalyani claims that he then received calls from four of Ra's companions, one of whom was a man named Krishna.
The five con artists convinced Kalyani to deposit Rs. 5.58 lakh in Ra's account between November 4 and 8.
