Bugatti Chiron Breaks Cover — The Mean Machine Unleashed In Monterey
One of the most awaited super cars, the Bugatti Chiron officially breaks cover in California this weekend and will be displayed in Monterey Car Week. Visitors can take a peek at the car in a motorsport gathering at The Quail, and later, the car can be seen on Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance on Sunday. The Bugatti Vision Gran Turismo Concept will be on display too.
Earlier, the Chiron was unveiled at the Geneva Auto Show, but this is the first look at the US spec car. Not much has changed from its initial counterpart. On the bumper, indicator markers can be seen in orange and the speedo will be displayed in miles.
Bugatti revealed that it has received orders from 200 customers across the world. Soon, customers will be driving a Chiron. The Chiron's top speed is limited to 420km/h for the customers, but the unrestricted version of the car is expected to reach beyond that. Bugatti will be using this car to try and break the land speed record of 429km/h for a production car.
The Bugatti Chiron is powered by a 8-liter W6 engine with quad turbochargers, producing a whopping 1,480bhp, which is sent to all four wheels. It can reach 0-100km/h in less than 2.5 seconds, and can break the 200km/h barrier in just 6.5 seconds.
Bugatti will be building only 500 Chiron's for its customers, out of which 200 are already sold. Bugatti expects 30 percent of its customers will be from the US. If you are looking to book one, it costs around $2.7 million which is approximately Rs. 18 crore.
