BMW Warns British Rolls-Royce Staff Of EU Exit Risks
German luxury carmaker BMW has warned its British Rolls-Royce staff about the risks involved if Britain choses to leave the European Union (EU) at the upcoming referendum, through a letter, according to the BBC.
In the letter, BMW has stated the benefits of Britain being a part of the European Union and the problems the carmaker would face if Britain leaves.
The carmaker has said that it was doubtful if Britain would be granted a free trade deal with the EU, and costs and tariffs would go up, increasing the prices.
The letter also stated that the free movement of people from Britain and the EU had lead to the rapid transfer of knowledge between Rolls-Royce and BMW, which has resulted in improvement in skills with the British employees.
Many other companies refrained from signing the letter as they wanted to be neutral in such an important case. The British Prime Minister, David Cameron is campaigning to keep Britain as a part of the European Union.
