At the 2016 Guangzhou Auto Show, BMW showcased the 1 Series Sedan. The introduction of the entry-level BMW sedan in China will help the company to increase the sales in the segment currently ruled by the rivals, Audi A3 and Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class.
The 1 Series sedan is 4,456mm long, 1,803mm wide and 1,446mm high, and has a wheelbase of 2,670mm. The car is very well proportioned and sporty looking. At the front, it gets kidney grilles and to be honest, it has the most stylish headlights and rear lights in the current BMW product lineup.
Inside, the top-end 1 Series features a dual-tone beige and black colour combo with a floating dashboard. The centre console is angled towards the driver.
The model also has a three-spoke multifunction steering wheel, electric brake, Start & Stop button, an 8.8 inch LED central screen, fill colour Head-Up Display and BMW iDrive system.
BMW offers the 1 Series Sedan in China in three petrol variants: 118i, 120i and 125i. The 118i gets a 1.5-litre TwinPower turbo three-cylinder engine which develops 136bhp and the power unit is paired with a 6-speed automatic gearbox.
The 120i and 125i are powered by a 2.0-litre TwinPower four-cylinder engine producing 192bhp and 231bhp respectively. The engine is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission.
