The Qute quadricycle from Bajaj Auto was recently subjected to a crash test. EURO NCAP conducted the crash test and has released the video and results from their experiment. Bajaj Auto manufactures the Qute in India at its facility in Chakan, Pune.
EURO NCAP subjected the Qute to frontal crash test at a speed of 50 km/h. The Qute by Bajaj Auto could only manage to secure a single safety star. From the test, it was concluded that the quadricycle is not completely safe in an accident and occupants life is at serious risk.
Previously, Bajaj Auto claimed that the Qute was safe for occupants. The Qute was compared to the Volkswagen Polo, Tata Nano, and Maruti Suzuki Alto in terms of safety. Internationally the Qute competes with the Renault Twizy and several other products.
