Festive Season Becomes Delightful For Customers And Carmakers
The festive season has started and customers have timed their buys perfectly, making carmakers happy too. The season recorded good sales figures for carmakers and two-wheeler manufacturers according to data released by them.
Comparing all the automobile manufacturers in India, Maruti Suzuki and Hero MotoCorp recorded the best growth.
Maruti Suzuki recorded 84,808 units sold in August, while also registering 39.3 percent sales hike in its compact cars. Maruti Suzuki registered 41 percent increase in the sales of the SX4 and the Swift Dzire.
South Korean carmaker Hyundai registered 12.9 percent growth with regards to its domestic sales. The Hyundai creta, Grand i10, and the i20 remain to be the best-sellers for Hyundai. The recently launched Elantra is also gaining attention for the carmaker.
Honda too saw a growth during this period, but was marginal. Sales of the Honda City and the Jazz helped Honda record 4 percent growth in sales, which translated to 4,102 units. Skoda registered an impressive 33 percent rise in sales, having sold 1,463 units.
Hero MotoCorp, being the biggest two-wheeler manufacturer in India, recorded 36 percent growth. The two-wheeler manufacturer managed to sell 4,15,137 units during the festive period.
