Audi Q2 Mini SUV To Be Launched In The Indian Market Soon
Audi will be bringing its all-new mini SUV, the Q2 to India very soon. We could see the introduction of the Q2 in India as early as 2016-end. Initially, the all-new mini SUV would be offered only with a petrol engine, with a diesel launch scheduled soon after.
The all-new Q2 mini SUV will be placed below the Q3 model that is already on sale in India. Engineers will be equipping the Q2 with all-new engine options. As of now, it is unclear if Audi will locally manufacture the new Q2 at its Indian facility to keep cost in check.
The entire Audi range will also be updated with petrol engines. Customers will have the option to choose between petrol and diesel-powered vehicles. Sedans to SUVs from Audi's portfolio will feature optional engines, owing to the recently revoked diesel engine ban.
The Delhi Government had introduced a ban on the sale of vehicles with diesel engines over 2.0-litre. This ban affected Audi tremendously as the majority of sales come from the Delhi-NCR region. Majority of Audi sales in India is generated from its diesel range, which was heavily affected.
There is also talk that Audi could introduce an all-new hatchback for the Indian market. Audi India also confirms that this new offering will not be introduced immediately. Stay tuned for more updates from Audi and upcoming products for India and international markets.
