German automaker Audi's 2017 A3 now has more power and other electronic aids such as driver assistance systems. The new model will compete against the likes of segment dominating Mercedes-Benz CLA.
Audi USA already calls this new model as the best A3 yet. The major update includes an entry-level 2.0-litre turbocharged four cylinder engine producing 186bhp of power.
For next year, Audi USA has priced this entry-level model at $31,200 (Rs 21.37 lakh). For this price, as we mentioned before, the customers will get a 2.0 TFSI version with front-wheel drive in Premium trim.
The other two variants are Premium Plus and Prestige, priced from $34,450 (Rs 23.57 lakh) and $40,150 (Rs 27.51 lakh) respectively.
Another key feature is, all the A3 models now comes with Xenon headlights as standard, with standard LED light available as an option. Customers can also choose additional safety systems such as Adaptive cruise control with traffic jam assist, active lane assist and emergency braking with pedestrian detection.
A 12.3-inch Virtual Cockpit is now available as an optional extra. The car comes with a smaller 7-inch display that rises from the dashboard as standard. This screen offers access to the MMI interface.
Audi A3's main rival, the 2017 Mercedes-Benz still has more power and it also costs a little more. The entry-level CLA costs $32,400 (Rs 22.20 lakh). It has 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine churning out 208bhp.
