Aston Martin Returns To F1 With Red Bull Racing
Aston Martin will return to Formula One after a 55 year absence after it signed a sponsorship deal with Red Bull Racing.
As per the deal, Aston Martin's badge will appear on the nose of the Red Bull RB12 racecar and the Aston Martin name will also appear on the F1 car's sidepods. The branding deal will come into effect from the first race weekend of the season which starts on March 18 in Melbourne, Australia.
According to Autosport, the deal is also linked to an road car collaboration between Aston Martin and Red Bull Racing's chief technical officer and designer Adrian Newey.
Aston Martin had been looking at a return to Formula One for a while now and were in talks with other F1 teams like Force India and Williams along with Red Bull since last year. A deal that would have rebranded Force India as Aston martin Racing was put on hold earlier this year.
The deal will help the British carmaker compete with its rivals like Ferrari and McLaren both on and off the track.
