Aston Martin Vantage GT8 Roars Into Life, Costs A Pretty Penny As Well
Aston Martin have launched the race inspired Vantage GT8. The Vantage GT8 is the lightest Vantage ever will cost its owners £165,000.
Powering the GT8 is a more powerful version of Aston Martin's venerable 4.7-liter V8 that produces 440bhp and 490Nm of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels through either a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 7-speed automatic.
The Aston Martin Vantage GT8 can sprint from 0 to 100km/h in 4.4 seconda and will keep on accelerating until it hits 306km/h.
The GT8 weighs in at 1,510 kilograms and is the lightest Vantage till date. To keep the weight down, Aston Martin have made extensive use of carbon fibre.
Aston have save 100 kilograms on weight over the usual V8 Vantage by making the bumpers, front splitter, rear diffusor, side sills, bucket seats and door panels out of the lightweight but extremely strong material.
If you want more carbon bits you can add on the Aero pack which adds the big rear wing and winglets on the splitter, both of which are made of carbon fibre.
Other lightweight bits that can be added on include a carbon fibre roof, poly-carbonate rear window and a titanium exhaust. Owners can also opt for lighter 7-spoke magnesium wheels instead of the usual 5-spoke alloys.
The new GT8 is available in 3 different colours - Stirling Green and Lime (seen in the photo gallery), Stratus White and Green and China Grey and Blue.
The Aston Martin Vantage GT8 is limited to a production run of just 150 cars.
