Alibaba Group Launches ‘RX5’; Internet Connected Car

Alibaba Group, the e-commerce giant from China, launched an internet connected car RX5 in partnership with SAIC Motor Corporation.

The OS (Operating System) based car, which is run by YunOS has been named OS'Car RX5, which is a smart operating system which is tailor made for the automotive industry.

It has been priced at CNY 99,800 - CNY 186,800 (Rs. 10,07,240 - Rs. 18,85,295) in China. The car promises to have advanced fuel technology, better and powerful accelerator, lesser oil consumption, and shorter braking distance.

On the technology side, it will come with an intelligent map, location tracking without GPS or WiFi, and an automatic change in map zoom size which is based on the car speed. The car will take voice commands to control the vehicle which will be via smart voice control.

The car will get its personal 'Internet ID' which will recognise the driver through connected smartphones or the smartwatches. It personalises services such as greetings, destinations, and preferred music.

The car boasts of four detachable camera that allows users to record videos and most of all take 360-degree in-car selfies which can be instantly shared via your smartphone.
