The German Federal Court Of Justice has banned Mercedes-Benz from selling Airscarf heating system for headrests in cars sold in Germany due to a patents dispute. The Airscarf heating system is an option on Mercedes convertibles.
The heating system basically blows hot air into driver's neck through the car's headrest. The option is available in car models such as the Mercedes SLK, S-Class, and C-Class convertibles.
A Mercedes-Benz spokesperson said that she was astonished by the court's verdict, since Daimler, the parent company had won legal disputes over Airscarf in lower courts.
