BMW Teases New 5 Series — Bavarian Beast To Take On The Merc E-Class Next Year

German carmaker BMW has released the first teaser video for the next-generation of the 5 Series sedan. The new executive sedan is expected to debut in the first half of 2017.

In typical teaser fashion, the video gives away only a silhouette of the new 5 series along with a glimpse at how the new taillamps will shape up.

Another rather interesting feature given away by the teaser is the fact that the car seems to be reversing itself, without anyone at the wheel. This could very well mean that the remote parking technology from the current 7 Series is trickling down to its smaller sibling.

The new 5 Series is expected to take a few more tricks from the 7 Series including the use of carbon fibre, but we'll get to know more about the car as the launch gets nearer.
