2016 BMW 7 Series Rolls Of Chennai Assembly Lines
BMW India recently showcased several of its new products at the 2016 Auto Expo in Delhi. Two new models showcased in the international market made their Indian debut at the motor show. The German manufacturer has now rolled out its 2016 7 Series of the assembly line from its Chennai facility.
Present at the momentous occasion was Dr. Jochen Stallkamp, Managing Director, BMW Plant Chennai. The new luxury model from BMW India bears a starting price of Rs. 1.1 Crore ex-showroom (Delhi).
Both petrol and diesel engine options are provided to the 2016 7 Series model. A 4.4-litre, V8, twin-turbo petrol engine and a 3.0-litre inline six-cylinder, turbocharged engine in offered under the bonnet. BMW has equipped both engines with an 8-speed automatic gearbox as standard.
In terms of competition, BMW faces it only from its compatriots. The 7 Series will have to compete with the likes of Audi A8L and the Mercedes-Benz S Class. All three German manufacturers are competing aggressively in the country to garner a maximum number of sales.
