Zarooq Motors Unveils SandRacer — A Road Legal Dune Buggy
Zarooq Motors, a start-up automaker based in the UAE has unveiled the close-to-ready version of the Zarooq SandRacer. The off-roader has been designed specifically to be raced at a single-make racing championship on the sand dunes of Dubai.
What makes the Zarooq SandRacer even more tempting is that it will be road legal, so one can drive it to the races and drive it back home after. The Chassis, engine, and wiring are all ready for production and a select set of clients will be called to drive the buggies in early 2016.
The Zarooq SandRacer has been designed by Anthony Jannarelly, the same person who designed the W Motors Lykan and the Fenyr.
Powering the Zarooq sand buggy will be a 3.5-litre, six-cylinder engine that will produce 304bhp and 371Nm of torque. The SandRacer will be available in other states of tuning as well (400bhp and 500bhp). Delivering power will be a 6-speed automatic gearbox, powering two-wheels.
For the inside, the SandRacer will come with sports seats with four point quick release harnesses and a LCD display. Customers can opt for more comfy seats, cup holders, and glove boxes. On the outside, the Zarooq SandRacer will come equipped with projector headlamps and LED turn signals.
