Volkswagen To Debut Four Cars During Goodwood Festival Of Speed
The Goodwood Festival of Speed is a place where many carmakers look at it as a good opportunity to dubet cars in the UK.
Volkswagen is not refraining from this opportunity as the German carmaker has lined up four cars to make their first appearance in the UK.
Volkswagen has the following cars lined up to be debuted:
- Sport Coupé GTE Concept
- XL Sport
- Golf R400
- 2015 Polo R WRC rally car
The Sport Coupé GTE Concept is an exclusive sports car with a four-door body and a glass roof extending into the tailgate, which marks the beginning of a new design era for Volkswagen. Under the bonnet the Sport Coupé GTE utilises a plug-in hybrid drive, combining a TSI petrol engine with two electric motors.
The XL Sport has been developed from the Volkswagen XL1, the world's most energy efficient production car. It is powered by a Ducati Superleggera, two-cylinder engine that produces 200 PS and the XL Sport has a top speed of 168 mph.
The third car to be debuted is the Golf R 400 which debuted at the Auto China show in Beijing in April 2014. Based on the standard Golf R, the R 400 concept will have an engine that produces 400 PS and 450 Nm of peak torque.
The fourth and final car to ogle at the Volkswagen stand is the non-concept Polo R WRC car which secured a 1-2-3 podium finish at the Rally of Portugal.
