VW Issues Full-Page Apology For Emissions Scandal In US Newspapers
The Volkswagen Group has apologized for the emissions scandal by posting full page ads in over 30 newspapers across the United States yesterday.
The ad starts off with the words - "We're working to make things right" - showcasing VW's rather understated approach to the apology. The rest of the ad continues on in the same vein as VW asks for patience from its customers as it works on solving the issues faced by the 2-litre TDI engine.
Volkswagen have also used the ad to promote their goodwill package that offers $500 in the form of a Visa gift card to owners of models affected by the scandal as well as $500 gift card towards the purchase of a new Volkswagen. In addition to the money, the package also offers three years of no-cost roadside assistance.
