Volvo XC90 SUV Most Likely To Be Launched In India By May

Swedish automobile manufacturer is betting high on Indian market and has planned several launches. They will most likely launch their luxury SUV the XC90 in India as early as May, 2015.

Volvo recently launched its V40 Cross Country T4 petrol variant in India. This clearly establishes that the manufacturer is keen on offering products in India.

The manufacturer had previously decided to launch XC90 in India by September, 2015. Growing demand and popularity has brought launch date ahead for Indian market.

XC90 will be luxury SUV for India and will be offered in two options, which will be known as Momentum and Inscription. Momentum will be their base variant, while Inscription will be their feature rich version.

Here are the Volvo XC90 technical specifications:

• Engine: 2.0-litre four cylinder, D5 turbo diesel
• Horsepower: 225
• Torque: 470 Nm
• Gearbox: 8-speed automatic transmission

In terms of competition the XC90 will take on Audi Q7, BMW X5 and Mercedes-Benz GL Class in India. It is most likely Volvo will bring its luxury SUV as a CBU to India and will be priced higher than competitors.
