Volvo V40 Hatchback Launching In India On 17th June

Volvo is picking up the pace in India and is launching one model after another. They have scheduled the launch of their hatchback in India on 17th June, 2015.

Swedish car maker will introduce its V40 hatchback in the country. This hatchback made its debut back in 2012 Geneva Motor Show and was ahead of it competitors in terms of safety features.

Previously Volvo India launched their V40 Cross Country, which is a crossover. The V40 is a regular hatchback and will bear similar styling to its crossover sibling sans body cladding.

Volvo will offer both petrol and diesel engine options with their V40 hatchback:

The Inscription D3 sports a five cylinder 1984cc turbo diesel engine, which sends power to front wheels. It generates 150 horsepower, along with 350 Nm of torque. This engine will be mated to a 6-speed geartronic auto transmission.

The Momentum T4 sports a four cylinder 1596cc turbo petrol engine, which powers front wheels. It generates 180 horsepower, along with 240 Nm of torque. Volvo will offer both a manual and automatic 6-speed transmission option.

It is unclear if Volvo will launch both petrol and diesel V40 model on 17th June, 2015. They could launch one version and keep the other for the near future in India.

Volvo India will offer the V40 hatchback as a Completely Built Unit. It is expected to be priced at approximately INR 30,00,000 to INR 35,00,000 ex-showroom. Stay tuned for more updates when the vehicle is launched.
