Volkswagen Polo To Become The Hottest Hatch In India
German automobile manufacturer Volkswagen launched its refreshed Polo in India during 2014. In international markets they offer several other hatchbacks, which popular among racing enthusiasts. They have produced several hot hatches in the past.
Volkswagen India had also offered its Polo GT, which witnessed an overwhelming response from car lovers. They plan to upgrade and provide a more powerful hatchback for Indian enthusiasts, owing to success witnessed by their GT models.
The Polo GT is available in both petrol and diesel engine option:
- 1.2-litre MPI petrol engine produced 103 BHP, along with 175 Nm of peak torque. The engine is paired to a 7-speed gearbox, Volkswagen claim their hatchback provides a fuel efficiency of 16.47 kpl.
- 1.5-litre TDI diesel engine generates 103 BHP, along with 250 Nm of peak torque. The engine is mated to a 5-speed gearbox and the German manufacturer has got an ARAI rated fuel efficiency of 19.91 kpl.
Polo will get more race inspired equipment to enhance the driving experience. It could get active suspension, adaptive dampers and will get a more bigger mill. This vehicle when launched will compete with the likes of Abarth and its Punto.
Abarth is expected to launch its two new products in India during 2015. They plan to introduce Punto and 500 with re-tuned Abarth mills. When these new Volkswagen Polo GT come to India, they will not be cheap and will come with a hefty price tag.
