Volkswagen To Launch The All-New Beetle In India [Details]
Volkswagen has confirmed that the new Beetle will be coming to the Indian market soon. The launch teaser and details are being promoted by Volkswagen India's official Facebook page and Twitter via the hashtag #ThinkNew. However, the launch date is still not confirmed, but we believe the launch is around the corner, and will happen this month itself.
Volkswagen India withdrew the earlier generation Beetle from the Indian market due to poor sales. The new generation Beetle will be imported to India as a Completely Built Unit (CBU), and is expected to be priced between Rs. 20 lakh - Rs. 30 lakh ex-showroom.
The Beetle will be powered by a 1.4-litre TSI petrol engine, which delivers 158bhp and 250Nm of torque. Globally, the Beetle is offered with a manual transmission; however, for India we expect an automatic transmission.
The Beetle will compete with the Mercedes-Benz A-Class, BMW 1-Series, Fiat 500, and the Mini Cooper in India. Stay tuned for more updates regarding the new Volkswagen Beetle.
