Volkswagen New Beetle Begins India Testing; Launch By 2015-end
Volkswagen has globally introduced its new Beetle during April, 2015, in four variants. The German manufacturer previously removed the Beetle from India's portfolio due to low sales.
Now Volkswagen India has commenced testing their new Beetle on Indian roads. They are testing it currently at their facility at Chakan, Pune in Maharashtra.
The German automobile manufacturer will be re-introducing its Beetle in Indian market. It is an iconic vehicle and Volkswagen this time around will have realistic expectations from the market.
The New Beetle is expected to launch by 2015-end across India as a flagship product. Volkswagen will introduce it during the festival season in India to rope in as many customers as they can, during the initial phase.
In international markets, the Beetle is offered with three petrol engines a 1.2-litre TSI, 1.4-litre TSI and 2.0-litre TSI. A single diesel mill will also be available in the form of a 1.6-litre turbo engine.
This new Beetle by Volkswagen will be offered in India as a Completely Built Unit. We expect this new model will be priced at a starting price of INR 30,00,000 ex-showroom. Stay tuned for more updates as we get closer to its launch.
