New VW Software Issue Affects Fuel Consumption
oi-Dennis
By Dennis
Volkswagen has uncovered yet another software issue that is affecting its vehicles' fuel consumption, German media reported Thursday.
The faulty software manages energy recovery, which can be used to recharge car batteries. A problematic energy recovery system means that VW cars would have to use more fuel.
The problem was first revealed during a meeting with German investigators on the emissions cheating scandal that erupted at the end of September.
The news comes as yet another blow to the beleaguered German automaker who are battling a massive emissions scandal.
