Upgraded Hyundai Sonata Launched In South Korea

South Korean based carmaker Hyundai has launched the new Sonata sedan in its hometown with a few upgrades, mainly to its engine.

The car will be offered with a choice of seven different engine options, which include a plug in hybrid variant.

The engines that are being offered are:
A 2.0-litre, petrol engine that produces 154 PS and 190 Nm of torque, assisted by an electric motor that enables the car to run 35 km on pure electric energy.

Other new engine options are a 1.6-litre, turbocharged petrol engine that generates 180 PS and 264 Nm of torque, and a 1.7-litre diesel engine that is tuned to deliver 141 PS and 340 Nm of torque.

Both these engines can be opted with a newly designed dual clutch, automatic transmission.

The other 2.0 Turbo, 2.0 CVVl, 2.0 LPi and the Hybrid variant engines will be available as well.
