Uber India To Launch UberPool In Bengaluru Initially
Uber India is currently doing good throughout the country with their taxi service. On 19th September, 2015 the US based taxi service confirmed they will be launching a new service soon—UberPool.
UberPool will be initially offered only in Bengaluru and will then be rolled out in other cities across India. Several other taxi services have also commenced a similar service in other cities.
The US based taxi firm will be offering citizens of Bengaluru their own carpooling service. Customers can pick up others opting for a similar route and can split their fare with this new service.
Currently Meru Cabs, BlaBlaCar, Tripda and Ridingo all offer carpooling facility in India. UberPool will compete with these services and is expected to provide more saving to those using this facility.
Bhavik Rathod, GM, Uber, Bengaluru, expressed, "We'll be launching UberPool soon in beta in Bangalore, to gain insights from your adoption and usage."
He further added, "This will help us tremendously in iterating this experimental product to scale and make this shared vision, yours and ours successful. We can't wait to see the transformational impact it has on urban mobility in cities across India."
