5 Lakh Toyota Corolla Rolls Off Production Line at Toyota Mississippi
Toyota Mississippi is celebrating the mark of the 500,000th Toyota Corolla rolling off its production plant at Blue Springs. This is the quickest a US Toyota plant has achieved.
The plant employs 2000 people at the moment and it started production in 2011. The team has efficiently worked towards the demand from customers.
Fred Volf, Toyota Mississippi's Vice President of Manufacturing said, "The 500,000th Corolla vehicle is a milestone we're excited to be celebrating."
"We are proud to produce the Corolla, and it wouldn't have been accomplished without the 2,000 dedicated team members who support this operation."
This is something to cherish for the Toyota Mississippi facility. Toyota has sold more than 10 million cars in the US alone and over 40 million Corolla's worldwide, since the car was launched in 1968.
Toyota has generated 3,65,000 jobs in the US alone. Last year, in 2014, Toyota Mississippi alone produced 180,000 Corollas.
Toyota expects the cars value to be strong and has plans for the future as well. Toyota will also have a limited edition Corolla for sale very soon.
