Toyota Executive Julie Hamp Released, Resigns Too!
The latest in news in respect with Toyota's PR Head, Julie Hamp is that the 55 year old has been released from prison without any charges.
The top female executive was arrested last month on suspicion of drug law violations. She was arrested on suspicion of importing oxycodone, a narcotic painkiller.
The Japanese police have released Julie Hamp without any charges. Hamp had 57 oxycodone pills sent by air mail from the US to a Tokyo hotel in June.
Julie Hamp also resigned her position with Toyota a week ago and Shigeru Hayakawa was named her replacement with the company.
Shigeru Hayakawa had been with Toyota since 1977 and has experience in the company's US operations and also is a communications expert with the company.
Although Akio Toyoda, the President for Toyota defended Hamp, other company officials claim they did not know her whereabouts or her plans.
