Top 10 Selling Passenger Cars In August 2015
Passenger car sales is increasing day by day and customers too, are looking for cars that serve their purpose to the fullest.
There are a set of customers again who are looking at new features and expect something more than the regular, or rather something new.
This makes carmakers come up with new designs and features in a car, and also makes competition intense.
Even the recent ban in Assam had a major impact with car sales in India. Also, has the Figo Aspire made it to the list?
So lets take a look at how carmakers fared in August with sales of passenger cars.
10. Ford Figo Aspire:
At number 10 is the newly launched Ford Figo Aspire. Priced very well and loaded with features, it hasn't missed the opportunity to enter the list of top 10 selling cars in India. Having sold 5176 units already, Ford has high ambitions with the car and sales numbers are likely to see an increase in the future.
9. Honda Jazz:
Taking the ninth spot is another newly launched hatchback, the Honda Jazz. The Jazz too made it to the list in the first month itself. In August, Honda sold 5404 units, which has seen drop in sales compared to the month before.
8. Honda City:
The Honda City takes the eighth spot, regaining the title of Honda's best seller, selling 5405 units, one unit more than the Jazz. The City still proves to be a very successful car from the Japanese manufacturer.
7. Maruti Suzuki Celerio:
Taking the seventh place in the list id the Maruti Suzuki Celerio, having sold 7927 units. Compared to August 2014, the Celerio has seen 19 percent growth.
6. Hyundai Elite i20:
The Elite i20 takes the sixth place. The i20 has had 29 percent growth compared to August 2014, having sold 8521 units in August 2015.
5. Hyundai Grand i10:
The Grand i10 has seen a jump in sales of 54 percent! A year ago, it was in the seventh place having sold 6677 units and this year, Hyundai has managed to take the fifth spot, selling 10255 units!
4. Maruti Suzuki Wagon R:
At number four is the Wagon R, which has been in this place for a very long time. It has seen an increase of 12 percent, having sold 14648 units compared to 2014, when 13133 units were sold.
3. Maruti Suzuki Swift:
At number three is the Maruti Suzuki Swift, which has maintained its position for a long time. Sales of the Swift has witnessed a small drop of 5 percent compared to last year, having sold 16811 units in August 2015.
2. Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire:
The Dzire has finally been knocked off from the top of the list as being the best selling car in India. It has witnessed drop in sales and it could be because of the Ford Figo Aspire. In August 2015, Maruti manage to sell 18718 units, which is less than what it sold a year ago.
1. Maruti Suzuki Alto:
After a long battle with a sibling, the Alto claims the number one spot and becomes the best selling vehicle in India again. In August 2015, Maruti sold 23017 units of the Alto.
