Suzuki S-Cross Unveiled In India Prior To August Launch
The S-Cross is the first crossover on offer in India from Japanese manufacturer, Suzuki. They have been teasing and has been constantly testing this product in the country.
At a recent event Maruti Suzuki unveiled its S-Cross to a select few, along with several other details. Here are a few that we can share with our readers prior to its launch in August, 2015.
Now Suzuki has finally confirmed its S-Cross in India will only be offered with diesel engine during launch. Petrol powered version of this crossover will be introduced at a later stage.
Here are the two diesel engine options provided to S-Cross:
- A 1.3-litre DDiS diesel engine will produce 89 horsepower and 200 Nm of torque. This engine will be mated to a 5-speed manual transmission.
- A 1.6-litre DDiS diesel engine will produce 118 horsepower and 320 Nm of torque. This engine is paired to a 6-speed manual transmission.
There will be multiple variants for customers to choose from and S-Cross will be available in their Nixa showroom. Bookings have already commenced, however, petrol lovers will have to delay their buying for a while.
In India Suzuki S-Cross will have to compete with the likes of Renault Duster, Nissan Terrano and Hyundai's Creta model. Pricing will be a key factor and should be on par with its competitors.
