Ssangyong Korando Coming To India Thanks To Mahindra
Ssangyong currently offers a single product in India in the form of Rexton SUV. The Korean automobile manufacturer is brought by Mahindra and they are planning on launching Korando in India.
The Korean based manufacturer wants to tap India's large automobile market. To do so they plan on introducing its Korando compact SUV, which will be locally manufactured to keep costs in check.
Compact SUV is a growing segment in India and more manufacturers are entering. Mahindra has not confirmed launch details of the Korando. They are looking at all options to make it a huge success in one of the world's largest and growing automobile market.
The Korando in India will be offered with both a petrol as well as diesel engine. It is unclear how big an engine they will provide and how much performance will be extracted from them.
Ssangyong engineers will provide both manual as well as automatic transmissions. They will also provide the compact SUV with several safety features.
Korando once launched in India will have to compete with tough competitors in Indian market. The Duster by Renault and Ford's EcoSport will surely give the new compact SUV a tough time. Soon to be launched ix25 by Hyundai and HR-V by Honda will also join this competition.
