Audi Reveals New Q7 At Detroit Auto Show
Audi, the German automaker has revealed its new Q7 SUV during the Detroit Auto Show on Monday. The full size Sports Utility Vehicle has shed a lot of weight, owing to lightweight components used to build the SUV.
The new Q7 has managed to lose almost 716 pounds (324 kg) in its overall weight.
Apart from being on a diet, the Q7 has also received a major size trimming. The Q7 has been built shorter and narrower compared to its predecessor.
The Q7 still manages to offer three rows of seating and Audi claim that in spite of the Q7 being a little smaller than before, it offers more space for the occupants inside.
The new Q7 has some interesting features like ambient lighting, a new control system with fewer buttons and some capacitive controls.
The German luxury carmaker has plans of introducing a plug-in Hybrid version of its full size SUV as well.
Audi's entry-level SUV, the Q3 will receive cosmetic changes as well, like LED headlights. There will be no changes in terms of the engines offered with the SUVs.
