Scania Delivers Airavat Diamond Class Metrolink Buses To KSRTC
India is currently witnessing an increase in number of manufacturers entering automobile section. Now several manufacturers are entering the transport segment as well.
Scania had recently showcased a few of their public transport vehicles at Bus World 2015. On display were their premium buses, which will be manufactured in India itself.
KSRTC had ordered 35 of Scania's premium buses and they have delivered the first batch. The Swedish manufacturer has provided its buses under brand name Airavat Diamond Class.
Present at the flag-off of these new buses by Scania was Chief Minister of Karnataka. Another promise was made to deliver sustainable transport solutions for Indian market.
Anders Grundstromer, Managing Director, Scania India and Senior Vice President, Scania Group, commented, KSRTC order is a very prestigious milestone in our expansion in the Indian market."
He further added, "It is a reconfirmation that Scania buses are the future growth drivers in the transport sector. Scania won this order on merit basis after a successful trial by KSRTC. We are proud to be associated with an institution such as KSRTC, who are the frontrunners and trend setters among the other State Transport Corporations."
