Freaky Recall: Rolls-Royce Announces Recall Of Just One Of Its Ghost Models
The recall strategy is something that is on an increase with carmakers today. Luxury carmakers such as Ferrari, Bentley, and even Audi have to take a call when it comes to regarding safety.
Following the same commitment to offering safe vehicles, Rolls-Royce has announced a recall, but for one exclusive car — a Rolls-Royce Ghost, manufactured on January 23, 2014. But why recall only a single car?
Well, the answer to that is — commitment to safety. The Rolls-Royce Ghost in question is equipped with faulty air bags. The driver and passenger thorax (side) airbags may not meet required safety standards in the event of an accident, and this could even increase the risk of injury in an accident.
The recalled Rolls-Royce Ghost belongs to a customer in North America, and the person can take the car to any authorised Rolls-Royce dealership he chooses to get it fixed. The owner of the car has been informed, and the carmaker will replace the airbag module free of cost.
It is quite interesting to know the fact that Rolls-Royce has taken the pain to announce a recall just for one car. Also, this could be an eye opener for other carmakers too.
